Our mission is to mobilize resources and support innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of Northeast Kansas City, Missouri residents. We envision a community that is safe, healthy, and thriving. To achieve this vision, we are working to build a strong network of community partners, neighborhood groups and resources to assist residents.
Made up of approximately 30,000 residents, our ethnic-rich community of six neighborhoods (Pendleton Heights, Scarritt Renaissance, Indian Mound, Sheffield, Lykins and Independence Plaza), is located immediately East of a revitalized downtown Kansas City. While each neighborhood has its own unique character, we can come together as a unified voice to improve health, education, labor, and public safety in the Northeast area.
Whether you have lived in Historic Northeast for years or have just moved here from another city, state, or even country, we hope this site will help make getting access to needed community services and resources related to health, education, labor, and public safety much easier for you.
